30th JUNE 2023 - 1Z44: 60103 FLYING SCOTSMAN (CENTENARY WEEKENDER KINGS CROSS TO YORK) ARRIVES at DONCASTER.

The famous Steam Loco, 60103 Flying Scotsman is celebrating 100 years this year since its being built at Doncaster Works in February 1923.

Originally, 60103 was not scheduled to stop at Doncaster but to 'pass-through'. After some 'hoo-ha' in the press and those who schedule trains, the loco was finally slatted to visit and stop at Doncaster station, to everyone's excitement. After all, it was to be 100 years since the build of the loco at Doncaster Works in 1923. Even the ITV 'Calendar' news was on the platform interviewing dignitaries.

This is my second view of this prestigious locomotive this year!

17th JUNE 2023 - 1Z72: WCRC RAIL-TOUR SCARBOROUGH TO STRATFORD-UPON-AVON with 47813 'DIAMOND JUBILEE' & 47815 'GREAT WESTERN' at DONCASTER RAIL STATION.

 My first train-action since 6th May and so I decided to get to Donny station early and get a few photos of some early action! 1Z72 wasn't due until 08:53hrs so I had 90mins to take in the various sights and sounds of locos.

This unit came down the line to platform 1 and the driver change ends and waited for the point to change before moving off on the adjacent line.
