7th OCTOBER 2023-1Z30 VINTAGE TRAINS EXCUCURSION (FINSBURY PARK TO LINCOLN) with 7029 CLUN CASTLE.

7029 Clun Castle at York Rail Station, April 2022.

Another unfortunate trip to see a steam loco. I say that as the reserve camera I took, failed to yield any photographic record of Clun Castle or the many other interesting things seen on this outing! Thus the image of 7029 Clun Castle is from a previous sighting I made last year. But the steam loco showed well at Lincoln Rail Station and the station wasn't too busy with 'enthusiasts'.

The loco, hauling a train from Finsbury Park made good time and was only 6 minutes late. A platform change meant that from my vantage point on platform 4, I had a great view of 7029 as it pulled alongside platform 3.

Wildlife: Tawny Owl.

This Tawny Owl spent 30 minutes on our house roof, surveying all in the garden and then flew to the birdfeeder and spent another 25 minutes there watching the fish in our pond and the two hedgehogs moving around the garden.
