12 FEBRUARY 2022 - 6233 DUCHESS OF SUTHERLAND "1Z80 THE VALENTINES WHITE ROSE" KINGS CROSS TO YORK CALLS AT DONCASTER STATION.

 Yes...Welcome to Doncaster Rail Station on a very blustery and cold day. So cold that my fingers are freezing, even though I am wearing gloves! Finding it hard to press the shutter button on the camera!

Anyway, I am here to see 6233 Duchess of Sutherland, the LMS Princess Coronation Class steam locomotive, a large red loco, haul the 'Valentines White Rose' into Donny for a crew change, on its way to York.

47804 provides the tail loco for this tour.

This is the third occassion I have seen this loco and I must say it's a marvellous-looking steamer! After a few minutes, 6233 was off again. Heading out to York.

2 FEBRUARY 2022 - 46100 ROYAL SCOT '1Z39 WOLVERHAMPTON TO YORK' ARRIVES AT YORK STATION.

My first outing of 2022 and at it was a conundrum of where to go; Dore, Sheffield, Swinton or York to view the "White Rose"? Well I caught an Azuma up to York. Not too many 'Enthusiasts' about on the platform. The train was due in at 13:12hrs and it arrived on time.

46100 Royal Scot arrives at York Rail Station.

46100 Royal Scot carries the 1948-1956 BR Emblem on it's Tender.
