12th JULY 2022 - EARLY MORNING TAKE-OFFS AT DONCASTER-SHEFFIELD AIRPORT.

My first visit to Doncaster-Sheffield Airport specifically to watch and photograph aircraft take-offs. Positioned myself at runways-end. Not brilliant as high fencing hindering what could be a great view along the 2-mile runway!  maybe find another locale next time. Very Early in the morning...5:50am for 6am departure! Met another chap already there. Needless to say, the first take-off was delayed by 13 minutes.

First flight of the day was the scheduled 06:00hrs departure to Girona. But as stated above this was delay until 06:13hrs! But what a sight as the Airbus A320-232 hurtles down the runway towards us! The Estonia registered TUI Airlines, Airbus, ES-SAM, is a frequent visitor to Doncaster airport.

Very shortly after the Airbus A320 departure, a TUI Airlines Boeing 737 moved to the runway for immediate take-off! This was a scheduled 06:05am departure but didn't go until 06:19am.

The aircraft makes a short and quick right-turn.

Next to depart the airport was another TUI Airlines Boeing 737-8K5 to Reus wearing a" Robinson Club Resorts Livery", due to leave at 06:45am. But alas, this didn't happen! As is usual it was 10minutes late and departed at 06:55am! By now, my companion had departed too for breakfast.

Lift-off!

..and away.

There she goes!

Final course correction to right.

There was a scheduled TUI flight for 07:00am, but by 07:20am this hadn't happened. I needed to get home and so decided to depart myself as I couldn't wait any longer. Later, I discovered that the flight didn't actually depart until 07:55am!

Still a rather interesting first visit. I will venture down this way again!

Since writing this post, I have heard on the local news that the owners of the airport have decided to close the airport due to continual financial losses.
