10th OCTOBER 2022 - TAKE-OFFS & LANDINGS AT DONCASTER AIRPORT.

Well...things are not going good with the negotiations to keep the airport open. The Owners are determined to shut-down the airport, much against the wishes of politicians and ordinary 'joe-public'. The date for the last flight is November 4th 2022. After that...who knows? I suspect that the Owners will sell-off the land to 'Developers' and they, in turn, will build vast housing estates.

But enough of politics, I went down to the airport on the 10th, primarily to see an Astral Aviation 747 take-off. But this was not to be, though I did see some of the regular flights this morning.

...and here it is, WizzAir reg HA-LVH from Krakow.

With the two WizzAir planes arriving late, it could be an hour at least before they are loaded and boarded to take to the sky once again. But as I'm about to leave, I notice a Beech 200 Super King of HM Coastguard taxi towards my position.

This Coastguard Beech 200, is a sleek plane, I like it very much.

Fighting-off hunger, I emptied my flask of coffee and decided to wait for at least one of the WizzAir departures. And less than 30 minutes later I was rewarded with this...

WizzAir Airbus 321-271NX reg: HA-LVH taxies to runway.

Powers up to go.

And there she goes, WizzAir Aibus A321-27NX reg: HA-LVH to Krakow.

That's it, had to go, hunger calling. Would this be my last visit to Doncaster Airport? We shall see.

During a break in aircraft activity, across the road is a farm and a flock of sheep.

Big creatures...

...and on the way home, I stopped at a level crossing. Just a slight divertion from aircraft!

Finningley Signal Box.

Well, that's it for Donny Airport, unless I get one very final visit in before it completely shuts.

RJC

END.
