24 JULY 2021 - 61063 FLYING SCOTSMAN "THE HADRIAN" AT DONCASTER.

Last time I saw Flying Scotsman was 1999 at Kings Cross, so it was with great expectation and some trepidation to see it after all these years at my home patch. Notice the remarkably deserted Station. Normally there are hordes of people milling-around here. But in this time of the awful pandemic, Covid, the station and town is very sparsely populated with people.

I arrived about 20 minutes before the advertised departure time and was stunned to see the Great Loco itself already standing with its Support Coach, on the far rail beyond platform 8. Already there was a group of enthusiasts on platform 8, suitably "masked-up"(some), with clicking cameras, being joined by a steady trickle of more enthusiasts. Very few paying-customers around too.
