6th April 2024: 1Z90 STEAM DREAMS EXCURSION - NO SHOW FOR SIR NIGEL! 90002 heads with Class 47, D1924 at rear flashes past Doncaster Rail Station.

 So what a suprise! Expecting a grand old steamer, but no Sir Nigel Gresley! That will teach me. I should've checked the details online before I left home! Instead a Class 90 Electric Locomotive, 90002 was heading the excursion with class 47, D1924 'Crewe Diesel Depot', bringing-up the tail. All I can say is that it was a good job I videoed it, as the whole train flashed past in the blink of an eye on the Down-Fast line!! 10 minutes early too, due to the fact it wasn't a steamer! Not much else to see, so I went home for a sit-down!

LSL 90002 leads, cl47 D1924 at tail, flashes past with rake of Mk1 coaches at Doncaster Rail Station.

Other Motive Power seen;

Colas Rail (Rear) 70803 waits at 'STOP' Signal on the G2-line.

Colas Rail (Front) 70803 waits at 'STOP' Signal on the G2-line.

And moves off at the 'Go' light.

LNER 1A22, Azuma 800101 arrives at P3A from Leeds for Kings Cross.

Old & New 331004 158867 & 150211 sit between platforms 4 and 7.

LNER 1N81, Azuma 800229 arrives at P4 for York from Kings Cross.

Well, that was it. Still enjoyable but not as much as it would've been had Sir Nigel headed 1Z90.
