We're in June and amazing as it sounds, today is my first steam loco of the year. This loco and its coaching stock has journeyed over from Tyseley to Derby, to collect a group of passegers and ferry them to Statford-upon-Avon.

I was undecided until the morning of the trip, as to what time train to catch from home to Derby. Fortunately, I plumpted for the early train that would give me 50 spare minutes in Derby to get a coffee, vape and abloutions! Yes it was the correct decision as 7029 came in 11 minutes early, which I missed due to getting a coffee!

Have to admit that this is the first time in all my rail excursions that I have taken a more detailed look at the coaching stock.
So I got my photos and then boarded my train home at the exact same moment that Clun Castle pulled out of Derby with the consist of 8 MK1 coaches and 37240, a Transrail loco, providing the muscle at the rear.
A flying visit to Derby, my old stomping ground!
