11th JUNE 2025: 1Z07 - THE CARLISLE FELSMAN CREWE to CARLISLE with 60007 SIR NIGEL GRESLEY.

To see 60007, I would have a 'super' early start to the day at 4am! That was just to get out of bed! To get to Blackburn in time, I needed to get the 05:58hrs, Class 331 to Leeds and then jump on the 06:58hrs, Class 195 from York, via Leeds to Blackburn. Well thankfully I made it and pulled into Blackburn at 08:19hrs. With time to wake-up, grab a coffee and take a few photos of Blackburn around the station, I was ready.

60007 approached Blackburn and presented a magnificent view against the blue sky and bridge to the west. The video goes a little to convey the scene.

Though, what struck me was the very few 'enthusiasts' on the platforms to welcome 'Sir Nigel Gresley'.

I had a look around the surrounding area and Blackburn struck me as a small satalitte town of the Greater Manchester area. Very neat and clean in the vicinity of the station. The cathedral was very pleasant to see.
