29 SEPTEMBER 2021 - 46100 ROYAL SCOT '110Y HEREFORD TO BUXTON' AT CHESTERFIELD RAIL STATION.

So here I am at Chesterfield Railway Station to see 46100 Royal Scot steam though on its journey towards Buxton. This is a small 'through-station' linking London and Edinburgh. There is a freight line that also goes through the station and also serves passenger traffic, platform 3.

George Stephen (1781-1848), the father of the railway locomotive. He lies here in Chesterfield at St. Mary's Church, 700 meters from the railway station.

George Stephenson's statue outside the station.

The Church of St. Mary and All Saints - Chesterfield's twisted spire which can be seen from miles away as you approach Chesterfield, but by just stepping out of the station, you are presented with this view.

Ok, that's enough of the cultural lesson. Now to the trains and 46100 Royal Scot.
