This Blog is an attempt to gather all my photos of railway rolling stock in action. Aeroplanes in the sky or on the ground and a myriad of other things such as night sky objects like stars and planets. The Natural World, such as birds, plants, insects and large fury creatures.
6th FEBRUARY 2024 - KEIGHLEY RAIL STATION A VISIT TO SEE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE 46100 ROYAL SCOT!
An early start for me today. Got the early train to Leeds. After 30 minutes, alighted at Leeds and rushed round to platform 1 to get the Skipton train that would call at Keithley.
Leeds Rail Station.
Keithley Rail Station.
There are two stations at Keithley. The National Rail and the Keithley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVRI) Stations. I had gone there to see and photograph the steam locomotive 46100 Royal Scot, on its way to the North Yorkshire Railway at Pickering. I seem to be cursed by this steam locomotive. With all the occasions that I have wanted to document the loco with photographs or video, something has occurred to disrupt my attempts! Today was no exception to my unfortunate attempts! Besides everything, the heavens opened and it was 'lashing-it-down' with rain and no photo/video!
333008 with the Skipton service stops at Keithley. This is my stop.
Keithley Station with offices straddling the rails. K&WVR is behind the scaffolding on the left.
Keighley with Keithley & Worth Valley Rail Station.
I got to Keighley early morning via Leeds. Just two or three people in attendance to watch the spectacle. Because I was chatting to someone about the train, I got caught-out and didn't have my camera ready at the time it passed me, although I did see it with its Support Coach as it trundled through the station.
The Network BR Station of Keithley combines with the Keithley & Worth Valley station. There is build-working in progress, so at the present, until sometime in May, I think, starting station for the K&WVR is the next up the track.
KWVR Time table.
It was a good morning out, apart from not photographing Royal Scot, but I did see it and it did flash through the station!
Got back to Doncaster and spent a couple of hours there. Plenty of interesting loco movements through the station.
Doncaster Rail Station.
Class 185 at P3b for Manchester.
66059 heads north through the station on the down-fast track.
66795 'Bescot LDC' manoeuvres down and up the siding to get coupled-up to 3 wagons.

91114 pulls alongside P8 at Doncaster Rail Station.
DVT 82223 is at rear of 91114 at P8.
Diesel Railcar Class 153 DMSL(B) Unit, 153385 just rolled-in to park behind 37407.

LNER 91105 heads off north from P8.
LNER Azuma 801201 arrives at P4.
08669 shunter 'Bob Machin' in Wabtec compound.
Finally....a few signals at Doncaster.
This is one that I like. The Theatre Indicator Board indicates Platform 4. The two yellow lights indicate that the Driver of the train can proceed with caution.
So....I didn't grab a photo or video of 41600 but there was some interesting movement and vehicles to be seen at Doncaster!
