This Blog is an attempt to gather all my photos of railway rolling stock in action. Aeroplanes in the sky or on the ground and a myriad of other things such as night sky objects like stars and planets. The Natural World, such as birds, plants, insects and large fury creatures.
27th SEPTEMBER 2022 - DONCASTER AIRPORT: TWO FOR ONE BOEING 747s LAND WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER.
This afternoon, I drove out to Doncaster airport to see the approach and landing of a Boeing 747-48EF, from Nairobi. What I and others already there, got was the unscheduled arrival of a another Boeing 747, the 'One Air' 747- a few minutes beforehand! This had been parked-up at Doncaster for at least the last 5 months, that I know of and occasionally departing to Perth or elsewhere for work to be done on the aircraft. The livery has recently been completed.
So here I was and only by the skin-of-my-teeth! Traffic delays meant I missed the 12:35 TUIfly arrival. Looking to the south, the 'One Air' came towards the airport from the cloudy sky. I took many photos and a movie of its arrival and here is just a small selection. The roar of the jets engines as it passed me, 600 feet high was fantastic!

Here she is... One Air Boeing 747-433(BDSF) Reg G-UNET, approach to Doncaster Airport.
G-UNET looks resplendent in its new livery!
Looks much more resplendent with the yellow and blue livery on the cockpit-side!

One Air Boeing 747-433(BDSF) Reg G-UNET alongside TUIfly Airbus A320.
Well that was unexpected! But no time dwell on the moment, Astral Aviation Boeing 747-433(BDSF) reg. TF-AMU was due to land in the next 5 minutes!
And here it is...! Astral Aviation Boeing 747-433(BDSF) reg. TF-AMU approach to Doncaster Airport.
Boeing 747-48EF is here.
...And TF-AMU is down.
TF-AMU has turned around and starts to taxi to its parking stand.
Magnificent side-on view of Astral Aviation Boeing 747-48EF.
An all too brief visit to the airport for me, just 30 minutes but well worth the journey out here. May I take the time to say that it is a shame that the airport's owners are closing-down operations at the end of October 2022. Though the Government and the South Yorkshire Mayor has announced that they are working to reverse this decision...we shall see?
From big metal-birds to smaller feathered ones. This afternoon, my wife photographed a Buzzard hovering in the vicinity of our garden.
